The Painting School

Set in the beautiful rural estate of Nunnykirk
in the rolling Northumbrian countryside, our
Studio is a former Gin Gan. The 200 year old
round farm building once allowed horses to be
harnessed and walked round to drive threshing
machinery.

The Gin Gan’s 30ft diameter and 30ft pinnacled slate roof with huge original beams creates
an airy and inspirational environment and, with its high windows and north-facing aspect into the garden, provides ideal light for painting.

Our centrally heated and well-equipped studio with easels and tables and excellent materials will ensure you have a relaxed and comfortable environment in which to paint.

I studied Drawing and Painting at Edinburgh College of Art, followed by a Post Graduate course under Peter Blake. I then trained to be an Art teacher, teaching in high schools and tutoring at Edinburgh College of Art summer school. I have exhibited in Britain, Canada and New Zealand.

Thirty continuous years of painting, drawing and teaching and I still love what I do.
